In every discovery and achievement of the modern world of technology that significantly improves our lives, there is also a “shadow”. There is no need to speculate at length about the social purpose of technology. Let us turn to its psychic format.
Therefore, as we know, the psyche is what provides perception. Man owes it to perception for all that we shall call life. Without perception, not a single act of development takes place, as well as dying. Perception functions in the field of the relation between inner and outer reality. It means it is necessary to reconcile inner needs with the possibilities of their realization in the world to live. For example, man has speech (that is purely internal) and learns language (which regulates only the external) to communicate to the world his needs, beliefs, images, fantasies, etc. The fundamental condition of perception is its attitude towards the ability to be aware. One becomes what one is about the level of formation of this capacity.
Consciousness circulates in the world of people. Any form of withdrawal of consciousness from the world yields an autistic perception absorbed into its inner reality.
Consequently, the absorption of consciousness into its reality initially produces autistic perception, then dependence on the inner and alienation, loneliness and an extreme form, psychosis. It is the “shadow” of modern technology.
Perhaps, before getting carried away and admiring technological advances, one should remember – man needs “another” man…. so it was, is and will be…
