A book at the price of life

Every encounter in psychotherapy is a “book of life”, the author of which, unfortunately, cannot realize either its content or his authorship.

In most cases, these “books” are dedicated to descriptions of things that have happened or to fantasies about things that might happen someday.

  • The only thing missing is a description of life today and now. The entire plot of such a book is devoted to one thing – to the describing of inner reality, the main task of which is to escape from real life in any way and literally “hide” in yourself, even if you cannot stand yourself for a long time.
  • Such an inner, sometimes insufferable, reality has one definition – the reality of neurosis. So, what is the reality of a person living with neurosis, in neurosis, and for neurosis?
  • First, neurosis is an “indisposition” of the psyche of a healthy person. This “malaise” is characterized by decreased interest in life, incomprehensible fatigue, apathy, the need for isolation and a catastrophic fear of making any decision.

So, is it possible to meet all these “gauges” of constructing the reality of neurosis in the “book of life” of one person?

As practice shows, yes! Then you simply need to seek specialized help “as early as yesterday”. If these “sensors” overlap partially, you are likely coping somehow, but the result is either weak or absent. Whatever the case, you have a genuinely healthy constitution.

So, we talk about LOSS OF INTEREST IN LIFE, or rather, hiding behind various values, limitations, beliefs, impossibilities and other destructiveness. Guilt, conscience, and justice, which always have to limit someone or yourself to put them off, are very impressive in this sequence. The neurotic reality always aims to leave, to put off life! After all, it is much easier to measure life with empty slogans than to live and achieve it!

Making a decision is always a challenge.

FATIGUE

It is a state of uncertain powerlessness, lack of desire, a total blanket of emptiness, a sense of debilitating chaos and an inability to “get out” of its borders. It is impossible to get out of it because its reservoir is You! No matter how many times you destroy this state. It still lives because you nourish it. Therefore, you are tired of yourself!

APATHY

APATHY. Quite often confused with depression. As a result, we don’t know much about it at all! We only know that no matter how much you treat it with tranquillizers and antidepressants, it’s useless! A healthy person has a chance to get depression only in one case – an actual loss! Apathy, which literally “drags” a person into a neurotic reality, is an underlying anxiety about possible loss, which in most cases, it is in apathy, is lived as having already happened. But no matter how you spin it, you cannot lose yourself. So it turns out that it is your fantasies, illusions, delusions, and so on that, you are afraid of losing.

If you observe this in yourself, don’t rush to look for supporting facts – there are none. They are products of your imagination, which replace your activity of looking for interest in life. Keep in mind – interest is your project, and apathy is about living out its absence.

THE NEED FOR ISOLATION. This concept can get the highest rating for living in a neurotic reality! After all, neurosis lowers your resistance to the stimuli of the world around you, and the world as we know it does not stand still. So it turns out that isolation is a form of relationship with the world in which you confirm your “absence”, i.e. acquire the “slave position”.

And it turns out that if you don’t build the world up, it will build you up and do whatever it wants to you.

However, very often this very need becomes “fashionable” and, one might say, an indicator of the “highest form of individuality” in a neurotic reality.

Yes, one could agree with that, except that not everyone can face themselves in isolation from the world (and that is very often extra stressful).

And the most challenging thing about the neurotic reality is the DECISION-MAKING CATASTROPHE! Decision-making is always complicated, especially if there are not many choices or if there are many choices. But with neurotic choices, the criteria for evaluating possible decisions and ways of making them always “migrate”! It is as if you are weightless… because everything that will result from the decision is “all bad”. Because the purpose of neurotic reality is not to experience happiness or to recognize joy in one’s own life. The mystery of neurosis is hidden in the disaster of decision-making, which must necessarily lead to change – to keep the situation unchanged under any circumstances, to ‘freeze’ that life in which you do not recognize yourself but without which you no longer see yourself. If you do nothing, you should not complain about “love, but do not appreciate” or “love, but do not marry”…

You should not seek respect because they will use you without your authorship acknowledgement or steal your ideas!

Don’t try to be successful, because success is measured by results…

And neurotic reality does not allow for life today. It accepts itself either in yesterday or in a phantom tomorrow!
