Goodness is hardly the most tragic manipulation of people; the nature of the displacement of meaning in manipulation.
Have you ever been in a situation of interacting with someone who “radiates” overpowering goodness? Have you ever felt the tremendous pull and desire to “sink” into that good, to feel the “sweet baby’s bliss” of life (or rather the pleasure of its unconsciousness), and to throw a blanket of total safety over the inexhaustible source of goodness?
You did not hesitate to open yourself up to the person, present your conception of life and being in it, and tell fervently about your searches and ordeals. You did not even stop when you recalled something that was no longer worth remembering (because there are memories that are not worth remembering because it hurts even more to remember than to go through them). You were unfolding your whole self…
Did it happen? Well, let’s get to know the symptom of goodness.
In my opinion, this is such a combination of one construction of thinking – psyche (imagination), goodness (“total masochism”) and gratitude (“selective sadism”), and also the appearance of the third component – manipulation (“to punish everybody except yourself”) of the one who wilfully gets into the system of action of not goodness (in its classical reproduction), but a symptom of goodness.
That’s where the confusion comes in, for depending on the presence of power (“the ruler used” is the fourth significant component, or even the main one), the bearer of the symptom of the goodwill develops, and the model of behaviour, whose function is (both for the doer of the good and the manipulator) to “bring justice”, “restore justice” and just revenge, starts functioning brilliantly. Yes – it’s sadism, but what kind of sadism? It appears precisely at the moment when a person falls under the influence of a manipulator with a symptom of goodness and becomes, correctly – a sadist …
It is how all revolutions begin and how the most terrible in brutality and “immortalized” violence, the dramas of humanity, end. But, to our deepest regret, humanity still cannot reflect, enter this meta position that can change everything, and give in to awareness – why does it “give birth” to such pathological “good breeds”? It turns out that it wants this “mega good”, needs it, has a “gaping funnel” in the awareness of its functionality, just when it comes close to it. And disappears into it… (To be continued…)
